Asbestos & Hazardous Waste
Asbestos is a very common material found in many homes and businesses throughout Australia. It can be hazardous if not handled and disposed of correctly.Asbestos material can Not be mixed with any other type of waste material and only asbestos can be placed in an asbestos dedicated skip bin. Any mixed load found containing asbestos will incur additional charges. Please contact our office for pricing.
Asbestos Guidelines
All asbestos bins must be lined with 200 micron, polyethelyne plastic (builder’s plastic) which can be purchased at any hardware store or supplied with the bin for an additional charge.
Please allow at least one meter of overhang over all sides of the bin to ensure the asbestos is totally encased. The asbestos material should be kept damp at all times to minimise harmful dust from entering the environment. When finished loading, the plastic must be folded in on itself like a package and seams sealed with duct tape to ensure no dangerous fibers escape.
If the above procedures are not followed, we will not be able to collect and transport the bin. All asbestos bins are taken directly to an EPA licenced landfill in the Sydney Metropolitan Area for immediate burial.
